Democratic Party officials have until Wednesday to name a candidate to replace Rep. Terry Hyman, D-Leon, who died following a tractor accident on his Love County farm. Board officials said the deadline is required by procedures they will use to replace Hyman’s name on the November 4th general election ballot.

Party officials said they will meet Tuesday to select a nominee and will provide the name to the Election Board in advance of the Wednesday deadline. for Hyman, 56, will be held in Ardmore on Wednesday.
