Political Roundtable: News, Opinion and Commentary
My Top 3

When I read Hiring at Justice found politicized, my eyes rolled.

Politics in government?  How strange!  My favorite part of the article came from this quote.

Several committee members still had harsh words for the Bush administration.

“It really shows when it comes to politics, this is an administration that has no gag reflex,” said Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Rhode Island Democrat.

Nope!  Democrats would never introduce politics into government.  Is that perhaps because Democrats do not recognized any distinction between what they believe ought to be done and their right to do it?  Does this logic relieve them of all such problems?  If you believe in doing whatever feels good, how can you be a hypocrite?

Recently I received a link to this post from a friend.  The WIC Learning Center provides a link to Planned Parenthood.  That is not politics.  Consider that this is a conconservative Republican adminstration.  Here we have people within the Executive Branch flouting the will of the president.  But Democrats don’t do politics.  They just do whatever they want and insist that they have a right to make their fellow citizens pay for it.  BTW - Here is where Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse stands on the abortion issue.  Nope!  It is not about politics.  It is about getting what he wants.

It is axiomatic that “personnel is policy”.  Without the right personnel, no leader can implement his policies.  When the Bush administration tried to get its own people into the Justice Department, it did so to implement its policy.  Recognition of this simple truth shows that all the noise from the Democrats is a smokescreen.  Democrats do oppose the policies of the Bush Administration — don’t they?
