Swing State Project is buzzing with five primaries in four (D (D & R)
Some bloggers may be familiar with the field of Republican candidates vying to replace Congressman Kenny Hulshof (R-Columbia, Mo.), who left the seat to seek the Republican gubernatorial nomination. The video below is from a Republican debate when the candidates were asked to name their “favorite Founder,” as in Founding Fathers.
Brock Olivo, the former Univeristy of Missouri quarterback whose website sports, what else, Mizzou Tigers colors, has never voted before. He was the first to speak and answered “Lincoln.” Another candidate, Danie Moore, answered “Reagan.” (At least Olivo was closer, but still lightyears away.)
According to the Associated Press, former State Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer holds a large lead over the field with 43 percent of the vote, or just over 12,000 votes.
Danie Moore, pulling 22 percent of the vote, is roughly 900 votes behind second place Bob Onder. Brock Olivo holds fourth place with 2,200 votes, or 7 percent.
