No one plays the public for stupid better than the Republican party. Fear mongering has become the message. Unfortunately, it’s the only message they have. And, they’ll stop at nothing, including racism. Whatever it takes!
Mark Twain felt the lynching of blacks in the early 1900s, that was tolerated or overlooked by our government, reflected moral cowardice. Fast foward to the present where Fox News - metaphorically - attempts to lynch Barack Obama at every turn. Sean Hannity brings up Obama’s past relationship to Reverend Wright at every opportunity. And, continues to play and re-play those videos of the Reverend, that plays to the fears of the Fox News viewership. Anything goes in Politics, and apparently the same goes for Fox News. Moral cowards?
George Bush gave us a catastrophic unending war, Guantanamo, Torture, Abu Ghraib, Kangaroo Courts, Waterboarding, Black Sites, Extraordinary Rendition, Halliburton, No-Bid Contracts,Katrina, Cronyism, Recess Appointments, Warrantless Wiretapping, Fired U.S. Attorneys, Plamegate, Katrina, Doubling the National Dept, Denying Global Warming, and Katrina. The Republican party, and Fox News has much to be proud of. And ,what the hell happened to Mr. Santa Barbara Dennis Miller (?), he’s sold his soul. I don’t think anyone begrudges Miller for all the money he’s made, but it’s cost him his sense of humor, and he’s clearly lost his edge. The only one who laughs at his moronic assaults on Barack Obama, and anyone that questions the occupation of Irag, is Bill O’Reilly. They’re both moral cowards.
Last night I attempted to watch Michelle Obama’s keynote speech on Fox News while Fox News
ran a ticket tape running below her reminding their viewership about the Reverend Wright videos? How low can Fox News go? (Just wait and see)
Fox News, which is covering the entire Democratic National Convention, last night kept cutting away from Michelle Obama while she was speaking to people in the audience that appeared not to be paying attention? And, as reported in the News this morning, 80 percent of the cut aways were to black people giving the impression that the audience was primarily black? A disinterested audience of black people? That’s gonna play real well with Fox’s viewership…
Getting tired of John McCain’s the surge worked? Well, when you pay off the people you use to be fighting to stop fighting it’s not a military victory. What happens when we stop the payments? McCains more worried that if we leave now Bush, Rummy, and Cheney will have lied in vain.
Recently in Time Magazine, The Reverend John Hubers from Chicago wrote: “As an Evangelical pastor, I find the high percentage of fellow Evangelicals who believe that Senator John McCain is the candidate “most guided by his religious beliefs” hard to fathom. The testimonies of the two candidates in your “In Their Words” section shows McCain, in fact, to be far less connected to Evangelical Spirituality than Barack Obama, who can also lay claim to an authentic born-again experience. Unfortunately, what this shows is that many Evangelicals believe that Republicans and Christian are synonymous terms. It’s time to put that to rest.
