Chip Hanlon, a Huntington Beach investment advisor and GOP donor turned off John McCain and by Congressional spending, is now criticizing the reelection of John Boehner as House Minority leader. He’s complaining that Boehner hasn’t instituted a ban on earmarks in his own caucus - and now Democrat Barack Obama has beat him to the mark by calling for such a ban in his economic stimulus proposal.
“Problem is, earmark reform could have been a Republican issue as recently as six months ago. Now the opportunity is gone– poof!” Hanlon writes in this blog item. One of his web wizards offered the portrait rendering of Boehner shown here.
