While I’m not normally one to follow the activities of the Republican National Committee closely, I found this post on the CNN Wire, RNC call unprecedented meeting to question future leaders quite interesting.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — With six contenders jockeying to become the next chairman of the Republican National Committee, party members are taking the unique step of organizing a special meeting of the RNC to press the candidates on how they plan to bring the party back to power.
What’s surprising to me is the fact that a meeting like this is being deemed as unique. If the RNC pushing their candidates for chairman is something unusual, I think it’s quite clear why we’ve been losing elections.
Nonetheless, it’s definitely refreshing to see that they’re actually taking the time out of their busy schedules to grill the candidates seeking the RNC chairmanship.
If you didn’t know already, here are the candidates seeking the position of Chairman of the Republican National Committee:
Mike Duncan, Chairman, Republican National Committee
Saul Anuzis, Chairman, Republican Party of Michigan
Ken Plackwell, Former Secretary of State, Ohio
Katon Dawson, Chairman, Republican Party of South Carolina
Chip Saltsman, Former Chairman, Republican Party of Tennessee
Michael Steele, Chairman, GOPAC
